		<description>Yes. I was in Minneapolis when the same thing was happening in 78-9. Lines all up and down University Ave. Carter's dour speech in July 79. Wow. People sure hated that! Reagan then assured that era could one day come back with a vengeance. Is it the day closing in now?</description>

		<description>Another informative, if alarming post. I was living in Boston the early 70s when the northeast was hit by gas lines and huge hikes in heating fuel prices. It was amazing how well we coped. We really began changing our consumption habits permanently back then. I thought we'd seen the end of gas guzzlers and big ugly houses. Boy, was I wrong!</description>
