Friday garden blogging
Rain persists

The shrubs have had plenty to drink.

Back to spring rains and ponding this week. Very green for December!
It’s just incredible how wet it’s been. A fair amount of slushy snow came down last Saturday. By Tuesday it was all gone as several more inches of rain came visiting over the rest of the week. Winter is supposed to try to get started again in the next few days…

i don’t think you have any idea just how great this is for someone who is homesick. seriously– as much as i read this for the analysis all week (so intently that i forget the friday pics until they come again) these friday pictures are one of my favorite things on the whole internet. it is a deeply appreciated connection to home.

Christmas is almost among us here in Sweden. The snow has settled and the “levande ljus” or candles and Christmas lights are adroning the front doors of many a household. We are truly blessed to be able to practise this ritual event, Christmas, without a fear of retribution or extrinsic imposition. Let us pray, then, for our brothers and sisters in Iraq (and elsewhere) who deserve a better life; le us pray for our brothers and sisters in New Orleans and the returnees; give them hope and nourishment and love. From Sweden and Britain with love!! God Bless, Mike
